Setting up email with Microsoft Outlook

To set up your e-mail using Microsoft Outlook you will need the following items:

  • A PC with Microsoft Office installed on it
  • The E-mail address and Password that we provided you with

 

Step 1: From the main screen of Microsoft Outlook, click tools and then E-mail Accounts.

Fromt the Resulting Dialogue box, click the “Add a new Email account” radio button, and then click the next button.

From the Next Dialogue Box, click the “POP3” account type radio button and click Next.

On the Resulting dialogue box, fill out the information as follows:

  1. In the “Your Name” field, put the name that you would like to be displayed on your Emails.
  2. In the email address field enter the email address that we gave you.
  3. In the “Incoming mail server” field put “pop.1and1.com”
  4. In the “Outgoing mail server” field put “smtp.1and1.com”
  5. In the “User Name” field put your full email address again
  6. In the “Password field’ put the password that we gave you.
  7. Please check the “remember Password” check box.
  8. Click on the “more Settings” button

From the More Setting button, click on the “Outgoing Server” tab, and ensure that the “My Outgoing server requires authentication” box is checked, and the the radio button that says “use same settings as my incoming mail server”

Click the OK button. This will close the dialogue box. Then click on the test account settings button. If you get a green check on every test then you have done everything right....IF now, check your settings and try again.

Click Close and then click OK, and you’re all done!
